The Independence Day holiday weekend is almost here! Most construction on interstates and state routes will be suspended for the holiday July 3 – 8.
NCDOT has some travel tips everyone should follow to stay safe:
- Leave early;
- Drive responsibly;
- Allow extra time; and
- Avoid driving distracted and pay attention to your surroundings.
Remember several roads and bridges are closed in Western North Carolina due to Hurricane Helene. Use caution when traveling this 4th of July and make sure to check DriveNC.gov for alternative routes and real-time travel information.
