NCDOT maintains the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), which is a document listing major upcoming transportation projects over the next ten years. A major update of the STIP is completed every two years, as a result of the Strategic Transportation Investments (STI) Prioritization Process. The North Carolina Board of Transportation also approves amendments to the STIP on an ongoing monthly basis. A copy of NCDOT’s current STIP can be found here. Please note that not all types of projects are listed in the STIP–of note, maintenance projects, many types of bridge replacement projects, and highway safety projects are not typically listed in the STIP, among others.
